Sheep Worm drenching programs
Drench resistance by sheep worms is a major problem in WA, and the long used summer drenching program has been strongly linked to the development of resistance (source: DAFWA). The main recommendation to minimise resistance development is to follow the ‘Summer-Autumn Drenching Program’ (as per DAFWA, click here for link), which aims to provide effective control with minimal increase in drench resistance.
A new weapon in the management of drench resistance, is the incorporation of the new sheep drench ‘ZOLVIX’ into worm control programs. ZOLVIX contains a new active ingredient ‘monepantel’.
Used appropriately, ZOLVIX will help to maintain the effectiveness of older drench types as well as minimise the likelihood that resistance will develop to the new drench. A good idea i hear you say!!
DAFWA now recommend use of ZOLVIX within your overall sheep drenching program. To learn more and to download the complete DAFWA farmnote, click here
ZOLVIX is now available from Yerecoin Traders, both in store and online. Click here for further details
